At Buddy’s, we’ve just hit 4 Years. No “worlds best barber” in Carlton, no fluff, no weird “luxury grooming experience” that’s essentially a barber in a Stone Island jacket putting product in your hair and flashing a camera in your face till your retinas burn out, just a proper barbershop in Carlton doing solid work day in, day out. Skin fades, mullets, beard trims, burst fades, slick backs, longer hair, hell, even something to sort out that hairline. Good banter, relaxed vibes, a distinct lack of uncomfortable silence, and consistently not S*%T work.
Carlton’s seen plenty of shops try their luck. Buddy’s is still here, still busy, and still backing its work. From the early white walls to the beaming orange lights at night, Buddy’s has always had its own look. More than a couple years in, the shop still feels like the shop warm, sharp, a little loud in the right ways, weve found our identity and its hard to mistake for anywhere else. If that’s influenced a few looks around the area hey, imitations a form of flattery right??
We’re not interested in fluff. We’re interested in the cut being right, the service being consistent, and the shop feeling like somewhere you actually want to come back to. That’s what matters. A good barbershop should feel easy to trust the second you sit down, and even better when you walk back out. That’s the standard we keep.
Four years in, Carlton’s backed us the old-fashioned way by booking in, coming back, bringing their mates and keeping us busy. That means more to us than any big line ever could. We care about the standard staying high, the beers cold, and the shop feeling like somewhere you can actually take a load off. That’s been the goal at Buddy’s from the start, and it still is now.
So yeah, Buddy’s is four years old yesterday. Thanks to everyone who’s sat in the chair, patted the man himself (RIP), backed the shop, spread the word and kept us rolling. You’re the best! If you’ve been with us since the start, appreciate you. If you’ve only just found us, no stress it’s a good time to start.
